Circle of Friends

The Senior Center offers a specialized enrichment program for adults experiencing moderate memory loss called Circle of Friends. This supportive, uplifting group creates a safe place for participants to socialize, engage their minds, and enjoy activities designed specifically for their needs and abilities.

Circle of Friends meets every Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm at the Wimberley Community Center. Each session provides a structured yet gentle routine that helps participants feel secure and connected. The day begins with a warm welcome and group circle time, allowing everyone to greet one another, share stories, and ease comfortably into the morning.

Throughout the day, friends take part in a thoughtfully designed curriculum that includes art projects, crafts, guided movement, music, and cognitive exercises. Activities are adapted for adults ages 55 and up, with accommodations for both seated and standing participation depending on each person’s comfort and mobility level. The goal is to spark creativity, encourage conversation, and foster joy in a supportive, judgment-free environment.

A $5 donation each Thursday helps support the cost of materials, snacks, and program staffing. This contribution allows the Senior Center to continue offering meaningful memory-support activities for local families who benefit greatly from the service.

For more information about Circle of Friends or to discuss whether the program may be a good fit for someone you love, please call the Senior Center at 512-847-1781. The team is happy to answer questions, provide guidance, and help new participants feel welcome.
